Celebrity inspired jewelry

There is a lot of jewelry in display cases in jewelry stores that no one notices until they see a celebrity wearing a similar piece. Then people are clambering to own a piece of jewelry similar to what they have seen a certain star wearing. This celebrity inspired jewelry is not always expensive, even though what the celebrities wear is genuine jewelry, often costing thousands of dollars. Replicas of the jewelry soon come on the market as the demand for the pieces increases. 

One example of celebrity inspire jewelry is the chandelier earring. Long chandelier earrings became popular after stars of the 2004 Academy Awards were seen wearing them. From that time on they became a best seller in the jewelry market. Many jewelry stores probably had them on display and owners were doubting their decision to stock them in the stores because of the slow sales. After stars were seen wearing these earrings, stores had difficulty keeping them in stock. 

Another example of recent celebrity inspired jewelry is hip hop jewelry. When rap singers began wearing heavy chains and lots of different types of jewelry, the trend quickly raced through the fans of these performers. Young people, especially, wanted to have jewelry similar to what their favorite rapper was wearing giving rise to a whole new trend in the jewelry business.  

Celebrity inspired jewelry has helped many jewelry designers to make it in the business. Some of these designers give or loan certain pieces to stars on occasions where they will be in the public eye hoping that those watching will also want similar jewelry. Even though one designer may supply several stars with jewelry, they will all be wearing different pieces to ensure that at least one of them will catch on and become popular.
